For FSU faculty, staff, students, and family members, there is now a free online course that will teach each participant about the fundamental basics of Money, Debt, and Credit. This self-study course includes the following 12 chapters:
- Chapter 1: Setting Financial Goals
- Chapter 2: Being Money Smart
- Chapter 3: Budgeting for the Future
- Chapter 4: Basics of Investing
- Chapter 5: Dealing with Credit Cards
- Chapter 6: Handling Past-Due Debts
- Chapter 7: Using Credit Wisely
- Chapter 8: Improving Your Credit
- Chapter 9: Government Programs
- Chapter 10: Sales and Advertising Techniques
- Chapter 11: Shopping for a Car
- Chapter 12: Consumer Law and Public Resources
Completion of the course will allow some participants access to special incentives and discounts, depending on their Lender and the type of loan or credit applied for. You have nothing to lose and may stand to gain quite a bit!
The course is completely free, although you will have to create a user name and password in order to access the materials and receive your Certificate of Completion.

In accordance with FSU policy OP-C-7-F1 participation in this course may be considered as time worked, but you must secure the permission of your immediate supervisor prior to enrollment. Otherwise, you may attend training during your off hours or you may use leave time if so desired.
